Fic: Baby, It's Cold Outside
Title: Baby, It's Cold Outside
So, in the last fic I wrote about these two (Endeavor to Free Fall), I made Dalton just a private school. Somehow it turned into a boarding school for this fic, but hey, that works. Um...let's see. I'm not entirely sure that Darren Criss has hazel eyes, I was mostly just guessing from pictures I've seen, so that could be wrong...oh, and there is lots of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" plagiarism throughout this fic. You'll probably notice many little tidbits, especially in their dialogue.
Inspired by, of course, the gorgeous version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Darren Criss and Chris Colfer; includes speculation based on spoilers for upcoming episodes. Title and cut text from the aforementioned song, naturally.

Kurt shivers visibly as he sets his bag on the common room floor and joins Blaine on the couch, the older boy shifting almost imperceptibly nearer as he sits. Mind if I move in closer? The smile on Blaine’s face is sweet but mischievous, and Kurt’s momentarily confused as he watches his boyfriend steal a glance around the room- to make sure no one’s watching? Then he’s leaning in to capture Kurt’s lips in a sweet, chaste kiss, and the younger boy just thinks, oh, the blush that spreads from his head to his toes accompanied by a welcome glow of warmth.

“How are you?” Blaine asks when he pulls away, seeming a little out of breath himself, and Kurt’s still not used to that; not used to being wanted, to the stolen kisses and his own pounding heart and he’d thought he liked Finn but this, this is something else entirely and it scares him and thrills him more than he’ll ever admit.

Realizing he’s been staring at Blaine’s lips for an embarrassing amount of time, Kurt comes to with another shiver, the aftereffects of the freezing weather outside. “I'm good,” he tells his boyfriend with a smile in return, hesitating just a moment before reaching out to take his hand.

Blaine jumps at his touch, and Kurt’s about to draw away when the older boy grasps his fingers earnestly between his own, murmuring, “your hands are like ice!” Blaine’s thumb draws circles on the inside of Kurt’s wrist as he attempts to thaw Kurt’s fingers, admittedly freezing thanks to-

“I forgot my gloves when I-” he stops, cheeks tinted red once more, and Blaine leans in, breath hot on his neck. “When you came to my room last night?”

Kurt nods, and this time his shiver has nothing to do with the cold. “And I didn’t have time to go back to my room this morning before class.”

“And you thought the uniforms were a bad thing,” Blaine teases, sitting back. “See how convenient they are? No change of clothes, no problem.”

“Not to mention how good you look in them…”

The words escape Kurt’s mouth before he has a chance to stop himself, and this blushing thing is really getting ridiculous, he thinks as he turns away, attempting to hide his face. Blaine’s hand on his chin won’t let him, though, tilting Kurt’s head back up to meet his eyes with that grin that’s warm and devilish at once, and this time it’s Blaine who can’t help himself. “Gosh, your lips look delicious…”

Blue eyes lock on to hazel and Kurt’s done. I wish I knew how to break the spell…

“C’mon.” Blaine’s getting to his feet and tugging Kurt up alongside him, and I really can’t stay runs through the younger boy’s mind but he’s powerless and somehow, he doesn’t mind. He can feel eyes on them as they exit the common room, and there’s bound to be talk tomorrow, at least there will be plenty implied-

Let them talk, Kurt thinks, and Blaine’s hand slips into his own once more as the older boy tugs him into the darkest corner he can find, pressing Kurt into the wall and kissing him hard. He groans as Kurt’s tongue slips between his parted lips, and he’s nearly panting when they finally break apart. “Oh, your lips are delicious,” he comments, his tone deceptively casual, and they’re both laughing as their lips meet in another breathless kiss.

Blaine steps back a few minutes later, keeping a hand on Kurt’s hip to steady him. He takes a moment to compose himself, grinning in adoration at Kurt’s flushed cheeks, his futile attempts to fix his hair. He knows he shouldn’t, but, “Want to come back to my room and, uh, study?”

Kurt gives him a withering look that Blaine knows he deserves, but there’s something in the way the younger boy is biting his lip…

“Beautiful, what’s your hurry?” Taking a step closer, Blaine’s fingers tangle once more into the hair at the nape of Kurt’s neck, just resting there even though he wants to kiss him, again, fuck, what has he done to me?

“I just- I’ve got to go home…”

“Back outside? But, baby, you’ll freeze out there.” Kurt still hesitates, and Blaine’s lips are only inches from his own as the older boy whispers, “You can always borrow a pair of my gloves tomorrow…”

I ought to say no, no, no sir…

But his lips are saying yes for him, and they’re lost in one another once more as his hands settle on Blaine’s hips, kissing him fiercely and wishing desperately that they were already back in his room.

“Let’s go,” Kurt murmurs when they part, tone quiet but commanding, and he doesn’t allow either of them a chance to catch their breath before pulling Blaine back out into the light, knowing full well that more time to compose themselves is just more time to fall back into one another’s arms.

They make their way upstairs, hands on each other in some way at every moment-

And when they collapse into Blaine’s room, onto his bed, toeing off socks and shoes and tossing aside backpacks with a carelessness Kurt would condemn at any other time, the thought of not touching never crosses their minds. They could stay like this for hours, or maybe…

That maybe is what Kurt latches on to, the possibilities, and when Blaine tugs at his hair and whispers, “your eyes are like starlight,” Kurt won’t let himself think it quite yet, but…maybe. Maybe.

Later that night, stretched out across Blaine’s bed, paper and pens scattered haphazardly over his comforter- “We’re actually studying?” “Hey, it’s what I promised, isn’t it?”- Kurt notices his boyfriend humming a tune that sounds oddly familiar. He’s used to the Disney songs by now, but this…

He chimes in just as Blaine reaches the final line, singing softly alongside the older boy’s throaty hum: “Oh, baby, it’s cold outside.”

Blaine’s eyes rise from his homework to Kurt’s face, a smile gradually crossing his features as he leans in to give him a kiss. Returning to his work without another word, Blaine continues to write for a moment- and stops.

“Damn, we sound good together.”

Kurt’s laughter fills the room like winter bells, and all Blaine can do is grin.

Awww, so cute! I just got to listen to "Baby, It's Cold
Outside," so this was just another added bonus to my imagination.

Is that a Howl's Moving Castle reference I see, or am I reading too much into this?

Sweet. I liked some of the description of them shivering, and the way you capture their thoughts as they long to be together. Nice

Oh, never mind.I see it. The Lure one. I love them! I think I just googled icons for Lure kissing or something and looked for kissing pictures. Black and white was so cool that I grabbed it. Feel free to copy it...

I'm good, as you can see from mine, I'm a Nuke fan (though I have nothing against Luries). But thanks though!

I did not even see the Nuke thing before (no coffee earlier- mushy brain ), but glad we can both be cool with each other's pref. And we agree on Glee LOL.

right in the middle of the boy times you deliver an emotional blow like that and it fits so seamlessly with the whole scenario. I find those little moments to be so well used in your fic. keep it up!
